SpaceNamer is made by one developer, and that is who answers your email. Most questions are already answered below.
30 days, no questions asked. Email the address above with your license key and the money goes back.
Lost your key, or moving Macs? Open License… in the app.
Including these three things usually turns two emails into one:
SpaceNamer learns where a desktop is the first time you visit it after launching. Until then it is listed
but cannot be clicked. Swipe across your desktops once — or press Control with the left
and right arrow keys — and they all become clickable.
This is a macOS state problem rather than a SpaceNamer one, and logging out and back in rebuilds it. If it persists after that, restart the Mac and let us know.
Names are stored on each Mac separately, because macOS identifies desktops differently on different machines. There is no sync, by design — nothing about your desktops leaves your computer. Name them again on the second Mac and they will stay.
Names follow the desktop itself, not its position. If Mission Control has reordered your desktops, the names travelled with them — which is usually what you want. Open Rename Spaces… to see the current order.
Check for a stray space at the start or end of the key, and that all three seats are not already in use. Remove the license from a Mac you no longer use — License… in the menu — to free a seat, then try again. Still stuck? Email the key and we will sort it out.
No. macOS does not let any app change those labels without disabling system protections, and we will not ask you to do that. Your names appear in the menu bar and in SpaceNamer’s own menu, which is where you look anyway.
None. It never asks for Accessibility or Screen Recording, and it does not touch System Integrity Protection.
It reads desktop information the same way macOS does and switches desktops through public window focus, so there is far less to break than in tools that fake keystrokes. Each new macOS release is tested the week it ships and the result is published on the compatibility page.
Three. Moving to a new Mac? Remove the license on the old one from the License window, or free a seat from the customer portal.
Yes. Names are tied to each desktop itself rather than its position, so they follow the desktop when Mission Control reorders it and after a restart.
Yes. The menu shows one list per display, with a checkmark on each display’s active desktop.
No. SpaceNamer runs on Apple silicon Macs with macOS Ventura or later. See the compatibility page.
Not today. SpaceNamer uses macOS’s own switch, animation included.
Yes, it is signed and notarized by Apple. Unzip it, move it to Applications and open it — no warnings and no right-click tricks.
One purchase, three Macs, no permissions, 30 days to change your mind.
